COFFEE TABLE BOOK SIMPLY GIA is a book of photographs from some of the world’s top photographers who have known and worked with Gia. Along with these photographs each photographer will share his thoughts on Gia as a person and what it was like to work with this truly innovative model. With a forward by Diane Von Furstenberg, SIMPLY GIA is a loving tribute to this icon who changed the fashion world forever. The Foundation’s goal is to have this book displayed on coffee tables around the world. Release Date: 2007

JJ Martin and The Gia Foundation are proud to announce a series of benefit screenings of An American Girl,The Self-Destruction of Gia in New York, Chicago, and California.
NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY
JJ Martin director of An American Girl,The Self-Destruction of Gia©
has donated a Public Service Announcement (PSA) edited from the film to
Cable Positive. Founded in 1992, Cable Positive is a nonprofit organization
of the cable and telecommunications industry dedicated to unifying the
talents, resources, access and influence of the industry to raise HIV/AIDS
awareness; fund HIV/AIDS education, research and care; and promote a more
compassionate climate for people whose lives have been affected by HIV
and AIDS. This PSA will air nationally. National HIV
Testing Day is to help raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. The spot centers around
Gia and is a cautionary tale of the dangers of a high risk life.
24-HOUR GIA HELP LINE
In the name of Gia Carangi, The Foundation will be setting up a 24-hour
help line called Gia Help. This line will provide assistance to
anyone in a crisis situation dealing with matters similar to those that
affected Gia throughout her life. If you are having a problem or potential
problem with drug abuse, sexual abuse, feelings of helplessness, the effects
or issues of HIV/AIDS or just need a shoulder to lean on, this helpline
will be available to you.
